Post KL Amazing Race Bus-Lag

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Had a short KL getaway with some close frens over the Good Friday wkend. It started off as an amazing race with 3 teams in the competition. With the departure time at 730am, Team Bedok (B1 & B2) were confident of winning.

Alas, we were cursed by Murphy's Law (anything that can go wrong, usually does happens). We were the last team to arrive. Lucky it was not an elimination leg...muahahahahaha!

Had a great time. The apartment was nice although the first room we had the aircon broke down. Went clubbing, shopping, eating, and even managed to catch a movie - The Eye 10

All in all, it was a gd wkend spent in the company of frens. We shld do this again ppl!!

Wat A Week!

Just got back to the office today. Been away for a course from 15-18 March. Course title " The Write Grammar". Learnt a few things on English, basically a refresher on our English knowledge. However, the best part of the course is actually the food! We have two tea breaks a day. One at 10am and another one at 3pm. Our trainer was very generous..she gave us like 25-min tea breaks each time. A typical day would began at 9am..then by 9.40 we would go for our first tea-break...some more lesson, lunch at 12pm...2.45pm another tea-break. And we will knock off by 4.30pm. Imagine, 4 days of that schedule..simply marvelous! On top of that, the trainer was kind enuf to buy us sweets every day for us to chew on after lunch.

Did nothing much over the wkend. Sat was spent looking for a present for my younger nephew. Also went to a fren's BBQ. Managed to catch up with some of my camp mates. Basically a talk c!@k session.

Celebrated in advance my nephew bday last nite. The whole family and B2 had seafood dinner + Satay @ Simpang Bedok.
My nephews...the bday boy is the younger bro SHAHRUL NIZAM a.k.a SHAH RUKH KHAN

Cooking up a storm

Went to the Popular mega sale @ Singapore Expo yest. Main intention was to get an assessment book for my tuition kid. But couldn't find any secondary books there, only primary books. In the end, just bought a couple of stickers for my nephews. Stickers on fighter jets and tanks. Can u imagine that? Travel all the way there just to buy stickers??!!

Made an observation there. Saw parents who keep on piling basketfuls of assessment books for their kids. Poor kids! B2 was telling me that if we ever get married and have kids, I shld not do that. Well my response was, of course I won't. I won't go thru all the hassle. I would just call for quotation for companies to deliver their assessment papers direct to my place..muahahahaha! Which brings me to an article I read on the Straits Times. This ang moh journalist was thinking wether he shld apply for leave when his daughter sits for her PSLE in 2010! It was written tongue-in-cheek and it was hilarious the way he ended it. He asked his boss wether he could apply advance leave for 1st wk Oct, 2010!

We went to EastPoint in Simei to look for my assessment book at the Popular outlet there. Had a quick stopover at Old Chang Kee. They have this new breaded prawn. It's marvellous , simply delicious although it's $1.30 for a stick of 3. Got my book and were walking ard when we stumble upon a reflexology shop. $24 for a 40-min foot massage? Me and B2 sat down for a thoroughly relaxing massage. Once done, we were thinking of where to eat dinner. That's when I suggested we cook ourselves dinner.

So that was it. We went to NTUC to buy stuffs for our spagetti dinner. Bought spagetti, mushroom sauce, mince meat, mozarella cheese, chicken wings and garlic bread. We went back to B2's place and started cooking up a storm. B2 taught me how to make meatballs. From 200g of minced meat, I managed to get 7 meatballs, all done by me....hehehehehe....so proud of myself!

After 1/2 an hr, this is wat we came up with..
1. Appetiser - Garlic Bread
2. Main Course - Spagetti Meat Balls with Chicken Wings
3. Dessert - Chocolate Ice-Cream and Milo Dinosaur

It was a nice dinner to wrap up the wkend. Simply Heaven!

Prisoner in my own home

Had a pretty normal wkend. Sat morning was spent meeting B2 for breakfast. Then it was off to following her and her fren making their rounds at Kovan. Rounds? Well, they are the teachers-in-charge for Scouts and they are having their Jobweek next wk. As such, they have to distribute letters to interested shopkeepers who might have jobs to assign to the little scouts.

Then I was off to the mosque near my place to register for a religious class. $250/- for 5 modules..expensive? Well, I take it as investment for the hereafter. Well I even had the opportunity to pay $2/- for a bottle of Hugo Boss..huh?? So cheap?? Its minyak atar lah..."Smells like Hugo Boss"..........Yup, that's the brand..hahahaha!

Met B2 again in the evening for a movie date...Hitch.

It was a hilarious movie...absolutely LOVED the soundtrack..even downloaded one of the songs for my ringtone.."OOH WEE". I give it 4 Nachos. Then it was off to Simpang Bedok for supper. Was drinking my milo dinosaur when B2 looked up at the sky and said "Is it gg to rain?"

B1: Haven't U heard? Red sky at nite, sailors delight.
B2: Meaning?
B1: Well it u see red sky at nite, it will not rain..
B2: u Sure?
B1: yup.....(ponders)....then again, maybe i'm wrong
..........3 minutes later.....everybody scrambled for shelter......it was RAINING!

So much for SAILORS' DELIGHT!..HAHAHAHAHA
