Cooking up a storm
Went to the Popular mega sale @ Singapore Expo yest. Main intention was to get an assessment book for my tuition kid. But couldn't find any secondary books there, only primary books. In the end, just bought a couple of stickers for my nephews. Stickers on fighter jets and tanks. Can u imagine that? Travel all the way there just to buy stickers??!!
Made an observation there. Saw parents who keep on piling basketfuls of assessment books for their kids. Poor kids! B2 was telling me that if we ever get married and have kids, I shld not do that. Well my response was, of course I won't. I won't go thru all the hassle. I would just call for quotation for companies to deliver their assessment papers direct to my place..muahahahaha! Which brings me to an article I read on the Straits Times. This ang moh journalist was thinking wether he shld apply for leave when his daughter sits for her PSLE in 2010! It was written tongue-in-cheek and it was hilarious the way he ended it. He asked his boss wether he could apply advance leave for 1st wk Oct, 2010!
We went to EastPoint in Simei to look for my assessment book at the Popular outlet there. Had a quick stopover at Old Chang Kee. They have this new breaded prawn. It's marvellous , simply delicious although it's $1.30 for a stick of 3. Got my book and were walking ard when we stumble upon a reflexology shop. $24 for a 40-min foot massage? Me and B2 sat down for a thoroughly relaxing massage. Once done, we were thinking of where to eat dinner. That's when I suggested we cook ourselves dinner.
So that was it. We went to NTUC to buy stuffs for our spagetti dinner. Bought spagetti, mushroom sauce, mince meat, mozarella cheese, chicken wings and garlic bread. We went back to B2's place and started cooking up a storm. B2 taught me how to make meatballs. From 200g of minced meat, I managed to get 7 meatballs, all done by me....hehehehehe....so proud of myself!
After 1/2 an hr, this is wat we came up with..
1. Appetiser - Garlic Bread
2. Main Course - Spagetti Meat Balls with Chicken Wings
3. Dessert - Chocolate Ice-Cream and Milo Dinosaur
It was a nice dinner to wrap up the wkend. Simply Heaven!
